MY HOME, MY TEMPLE Each time I meet
with Sellers, they tell me how the property that
they are considering selling is not just a
house. It is their home. It is the place
where memories were made and continue to be
made. It is frequently the biggest investment
that the Sellers have ever made, and is worth much
more now than when they bought it. Frequently,
they have not bought or sold a home in many years
and know very little about the current selling
process.
In general, the public knows two tangible values of selling their home, price of the home, and a Realtor®s commission. However, there is much more than meets the eye, and much of it is not tangible. As inevitable emotions are
felt by the Sellers, it is my job:
to assure that the preparation and sale of their home goes as expected; to communicate the process and the chronology of the sale; to guide them through the array of paperwork; to be familiar with the financial implications of their sale; to ensure they avoid any unnecessary liabilities; to negotiate the contract with uncanny skill; to prepare them for their next home; and to make sure it all goes smoothly. I do not sell a simple commodity. I create a transition from one big part of your life, to the next. This area is filled with liabilities that span much farther than the sale of your home. You, the seller, can be liable for ten years and even more for something mistakenly done when selling your home. What may be "common" practice may not be prudent practice. I make sure to educate you, my Sellers, about what is prudent during your selling process to protect you from unnecessary liabilities. I do not take my job lightly. I would enjoy the opportunity to interview to be your listing agent. It will be obvious how I stand out from other Realtor®s shortly after we meet.
